  1. Hi

I've been trying to convert Divx/AVI files to MPEG-1 several times, and no matter which conversion product I've used, the mpg file always displays 'WWW.DARIM.COM' on the screen.

    How can I avoid this?

I've tried the freeware, TMPGenc and the demo version of Panasonic MPEG 1 Encoder v. 2.51.

Is it because you have to register the product, even if it's a freeware?

    Thx in advance

  2. Does this text exist even before you convert the video?
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  3. Darim make DBMPEG mpeg encoder. Have you installed it?
It sounds like you are using an unregistered version of its encoder/decoder.

You do not have to register TMPGEnc (freeware version) It will encode just fine. The only reason it would display the message is if your source video has it or your source video uses a Darim based MJEPG/DV codec.

  4. The AVI file doesn't contain the display.

Is the DBMPEG (don't you meen DVMPEG?) in some way included in the other two encoders, or will it effect the result, when I convert files using TMPGenc or the Panasonic? - I have installed the trial version of DVMPEG.

And last how can I determine which codec the source file is using?

    Thx again

  5. I don't think the sourtce codec matters as the AVI file does not have the watermark. Darim DVMPEG must install a proprietry decoder for mpegs. My only suggestion is to uninstall it (ie all Darim software - DVMPEG especially)

  6. Thanks, I'll remove the DARIM software and try converting again!

I guess, you use windows media player to play back the avi and Darim MPEG player to playback the MPEG. The Darim MPEG player adds the logo.
So probably everything is OK. Use a different software MPEG player or burn the Mpeg to (S)VCD and check whether there is still a logo.

  8. Truman: I've got several players installed, and I've tried playing the movie on all of them..........and same result.

cmacleo: As you suggested, I've now removed the trial version of DVMPEG, and the result is: no display of the logo.

    Thx all for your posts.
